Casadea Estates Winery held an Art Show and Fundraiser for Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation. "Goddesses of The County" was a delightful event enjoyed thoroughly by all. We raised just over $1400 for the hospital! See some pics below in our photo gallery.

Featured Artist: Marie Timbers, Watermedia and Collage Artist

I am an acrylic and collage/mixed media painter. My images explore many themes, usually landscape based — impressionist form is my signature.

Painting is an adventurous and unpredictable process for me. The act of putting paint to canvas opens a world of possibilities. Rarely do I end up where I had expected to go. A photo, a sketch, a passing image or view may be the inspiration, but sticking to any kind of "plan" feels like a straight jacket. I often work in series as I explore themes more fully and sketch both their meaning and my interpretation. My paintings have evolved to include mixed media and collage elements, allowing me to create three dimensional form and texture, depth and a sense of mystery.

I have studied painting, life drawing and sculpture at the Haliburton School of Art, the Toronto School of Art and through workshops. I have participated in numerous juried shows and group exhibitions in galleries in Toronto, York Region and Belleville. I am a member of the Quinte Arts Council, the Tweed and area Arts Council, the Tweed Studio Tour and the Artist Network of Riverdale.
